The drum belt wraps around the drum and connects to the motor pulley and idler pulley. When it breaks, the motor will run (you'll hear it) but the drum won't turn. A worn belt may also cause thumping or squeaking noises. This is one of the most common dryer repairs. The belt is inexpensive, but accessing it requires removing the top and front panels. Budget about 45-60 minutes for a first-time repair.
